Sky Watcher by Ella Emerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Ella Emerson is a new author to me. She was doing a Facebook take over and I was fortunate enough to receive her work as prize for playing a game. What an intriguing story.
Divorced after years of an unhappy marriage, Allison Singleton faces life alone and feeling older at the ripe old age of 35.
Being set up on blind dates by her sister, she meets lawyer Gavin McDermott. He’s good looking but seems self absorbed. The conversation turns into a job offer at his family’s chicken farm. Having no prospects in the near future, Allison accepts the challenge and moves in with Maggie and Gavin’s younger brother Luke. It is here that Allison finds something she’s been longing for all of her life. Now if she can just let go of her insecurities to fall in love, maybe she will finally be happy, her dream in life.
Weaving a tell about losing oneself to a “convenient” marriage and finding your way back to romance, Ms. Emerson keeps you longing to find out what will happen in the future. Well written to captivate the read, it’s a romance story that sets itself apart from the normal romance. With the twist and turns, the steamy sex scenes and the cliffhanger ending, I can’t wait to see what comes in the next installment.
